Runaway Bride and Man Who Never Looked Back

The night before her wedding, Evelyn Sim stood outside a door with a fruit platter in her hands and heard the truth.

For three years, Marcus Ong had been her savior. When her family's company collapsed and her fiancé left her for another woman, Marcus was the one who paid her debts, arranged her father's funeral and held her while all of Singapore laughed. Tomorrow she was going to marry him.

Then she heard him say it: everything had been for Vanessa. The woman whose birthday unlocks every password he owns. The woman who called and made him leave Evelyn's bed without a word. The woman he ruined the Sim family for.

By morning the bride's phone is dead, her closet is empty, and the safe in Marcus's study is missing one contract.

The makeup artist rings a doorbell no one answers. The wedding cars wait at the lucky hour. And Marcus Ong, the man who never once looked back when he walked away from her, is about to spend the rest of his life looking back at the bride who ran.
