Next in Solène's List

Solène has kept ten-year-old Cléa alive through the end of the world, and she has killed to do it. When the fever finally breaks in a borrowed farmhouse, she gathers the last of her tins, her pistol and her list and drives Cléa into a France where roads are traps, strangers lie, and the infected are the least of the dangers.

A tower block in Vienne promises walls, rules and a hot meal, and then breaks its promise. A hilltop town of three hundred and forty, Les Hautes-Roches, offers a gate, a doctor, a school and a council that votes on everything. It looks like paradise.

Then a teacher is found dead behind its walls, the gate book does not add up, and Solène, who knows exactly what it costs to keep a secret, realises that someone inside has been counting too.
