After Divorce, No Second Chance

On the steps of Plymouth Register Office, Jacob Denby folds his divorce certificate into his pocket and opens his delivery app. He’s thirty-five, overweight, deep in debt, and he has just lost his wife to a slick advertising director.

All he has left is his six-year-old daughter, Macy, and he’s about to lose her too. Then a strange voice chimes in his head: the WealthWeigh Game System has been installed.

Every pound he sheds earns him real money, and every promise he keeps to Macy unlocks a little more of the life he thought he’d lost. As Jacob climbs from rider to restaurateur, newspaper owner and tycoon, he uncovers a web of lies around the city’s most powerful family.

It reaches back to a boathouse fire, a rider’s death that the papers buried, and a man Macy calls “Uncle Dee”. Along the way he finds an unlikely ally in Lara, his sharp-witted former sister-in-law. With a year on the clock, Jacob must prove he can be the father, the man and the fighter his daughter deserves. And after the divorce, there will be no second chance.
